Release: May 2016
A new case from Valentine’s Detective Agency leads you on a search for a young woman and a secret colony of synths. Travel off the coast of Maine to the mysterious island of Far Harbor, where higher levels of radiation have created a more feral world. Navigate through the growing conflict between the synths, the Children of Atom, and the local townspeople. Will you work towards bringing peace to Far Harbor, and at what cost? Far Harbor features the largest landmass for an add-on that we’ve ever created, filled with new faction quests, settlements, lethal creatures and dungeons. Become more powerful with new, higher-level armor and weapons. The choices are all yours.
Another piece of information given by Bethesda is that they have even more content planned for Fallout 4, more than $60 worth of "new Fallout adventures and features throughout 2016". Due to this, they have stated that the season pass for the game will be increasing from $29.99 to $49.99 starting on March 1, 2016. However, any players who have already purchased the season pass, or purchase it before the changes on March 1, will receive all of the upcoming, and future unannounced content, at no additional charge. This is a nice gesture for players, and if you were on the fence about purchasing the season pass, you still have time to pick it up for the cheaper price.
"MORE THAN $60 WORTH OF NEW FALLOUT ADVENTURES AND FEATURES THROUGHOUT 2016"
Bethesda has also stated they will host closed betas for the add-on content for players who sign up on Bethesda.net, where testers will have full access to the content and will not have to purchase the add-on if chosen to participate. They also talked about continuing to provide free updates to the game, like the weapon debris for PC, and increased draw distances added to the console versions, and even a complete overhaul to Survival Mode. They are also still working to release the Creation Kit, which will allow players to create mode and play them for free.
The add-on content for Fallout 4 is expected to release next month, with Automatron coming in March 2016, Wasteland Workshop in April 2016, and Far Harbor in May 2016.
