In a quick blog post today on their website, Ubisoft announced that 6.4 million players participated in The Division beta, making it "the biggest beta ever for a new game brand on current generation platforms". According to the post, players spent about 5 hours on average playing through the beta, with players spending about 2 hours on average within the very popular PvP area known as the Dark Zone. Other numbers they gave out included that about 50% of agents went Rogue within the Dark Zone, and a fun fact that over 63 million items were extracted out of the Dark Zone during the beta period.

To put this is perspective, Destiny, Bungie's shared world shooter, pulled in 4.6 million players during its' beta period, and it was available on current gen systems, as well as Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. This is compared to The Division beta only being accessible on Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC. If those numbers tell us anything, it is that a lot of people are excited for The Division, once it releases on March 8th, 2016.
